We joined filmmaker Whitney Dow (The Two Towns of Jasper) as he presented his latest film, I Sit Where I Want: The Legacy of Brown v. Board of Education. This documentary follows a racially and economically diverse group of high school students in Buffalo, New York as they examine self-segregation and race relations in their school lunchroom. Dow answered questions and participateed in discussions with the audience following the screening.

My name is Brianna and I participated in the documentary, I just want to say that it was a wonderful experience and I learned alot about myself and others! It was interesting and some of the topics were difficult to approach. I was in a different lunch period than the one filmed but during the "experiment" I went to that lunch period. I was quite fortunate in the respect that my parents put me into a diverse school in pre-k because they wanted me to learn about diversity and that everyone is the same, equal, and deserve to be treated as I would want be treated, no matter what skin color they have. In my lunch, the table I sat at WAS diverse...2 white(including myself), 2 black, 1 hispanic and 1 asian. So I was surprised to see that people did not want to participate but when I saw this, I knew even if we could desegregate the lunch room it would be temporary and not stick for long. I really enjoyed it and I hope anyone who did watch the documentary enjoyed it and got something out of it too!! If you want to talk... just email me wolfe316@yahoo.com !
Hope we did a good job in honoring the 50th anniversary of Brown vs. Board.
