Do-gooder intentions go disastrously wrong when actor/director Liev Schreiber gives a young Iraqi film student the choice of a lifetime: an internship on a Hollywood film. Schreiber also thinks aspiring filmmaker Muthana Mohmed's foray into Western film making might make for an interesting documentary and hires veteran documentarian, Nina Davenport, who never imagines how complicated things will get or how personally involved in Murtha's life she will become. Operation Filmmaker tells the fascinating story of Muthana Mohmed's odyssey in the West, with uncanny parallels to America's recent misadventures abroad.
