Evelyn is the little blond girl. Anna, the standing lady is, of course, her mother Anna. Martha, the older girl sitting on the right, I remember from when I was a kid as Aunt Martha, who sold us country fresh eggs.
Anyway, if I had to describe my Grandma Evelyn, one of the first words to come to mind is "lady-like". I have never seen her mussed, impolite, or frazzled. Even at home - her hair is always done, her make-up expertly applied, and she's attired in a nice dress with flat pumps. So it really surprised me how rambunctious and athletic she was as a girl growing up on the farm. Not only did she help with chores; but she climbed trees, rode horses, and loved to go fishing in the near-by creek.
