Mamie and Victor were the birth parents of Darvin "Spud" Anderson. Mamie was born in 1893 and died at the young age of 29 years old, during a ill-fated pregnancy and premature birth in May of 1923. Victor was so despondant that one month later, he committed suicide by drinking Paris Green poison and slashing his own throat - leaving the six Anderson children: Violet, Vernon, Amelia, Darwin, Carl, and Lester as orphans.
