Red-faced Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus pyrrhocephalus)

This fantastic endemic was the one bird I most wanted to see in Sri Lanka!
These are shy & secretive arboreal birds restricted to a few rain forest pockets in south-west Sri Lanka. The name Mal-Koha apparently comes from the Sinhala language & means "flower cuckoo".
