The iconic top predator of the African plains.
The Mara lions are television celebrities as a consequence of the wildlife soap -Big Cat Diaries. Whilst we visited Musiara Marsh -the territory of the marsh pride, all of the images here are of members of the large ridge pride. The ridge pride had split into smaller groups to maximize on hunting potential with the arrival of the wildebeeste and clearly this tactic was working. We witnessed two successful hunts -catching one on video; the other happened so fast & was so compelling that I was unable to capture it.
