A Crocodile Co-operative?

Masai Mara, Kenya

The Mara crocs often seemed to assist each other in subduing and dispatching their prey. It is difficult to know whether this simply reflects individual opportunism or true co-operation. However, some of the larger crocs seemed to have real purpose to their actions after prey was killed -this included apparent caching of prey underwater and holding/fixing prey to allow smaller crocs to tear off chunks of flesh.
