Fulmar(Fulmarus glacialis)

At the end of the nineteenth century St Kilda was the only breeding station of this species in Scottish waters. Since then the population has taken off & they are now common around our coasts. The Fulmar's tubenose is an amazing sensory organ which allows the bird to detect the faintest of fish oil scents from a considerable distance away.
