Chats, wheatears & Flycatchers (Muscicapidae)

There is continuing debate about the relationships between wheatears/chats, Old-World flycatchers & the thrushes. Current opinion seems to have condensed around grouping the wheatears/Chats with the flycatchers in Muscicapidae along with the Rock Thrushes but excluding the Paradise-Flycatchers -not that the latter two groups are seen much in Scotland!
