Milepost R3 of the former N&W Spice Creek Branch along US 52. The "R" designates Roderfield as the origin of the line which is three miles to our north. The Spice Creek Branch was 4-1/2 miles long and served nine different mining operations in that short distance. According to state records, the last loads were hauled out in 1953.
