Mountain Plovers, Morgan County, Colorado, 3 Sep 2012

Mountain Plovers are never easy to see in Colorado, and they virtually disappear after August as they migrate south to wintering grounds in Mexico and southeast Arizona. However, I have seen one as late as October in the Pawnee Grasslands (Weld County). The 7 birds in this gallery were at Jackson Lake in Morgan County, in northeast CO, on 3 Sep 2012.
