Streamertail, a Jamaican endemic, is the most abundant Jamaican resident bird. Some consider Red-billed Streamertail a separate species from the Black-billed Streamertail, which is only found at the eastern end of the island, in the John Crow Mountains. We only saw Red-billed forms at Green Castle Estate. The females are white underneath, lack streamers, and show some red in the base of the mandible.
