Canyon Fire

Here's a 'better-than-binocular' view of today's Canyon Fire on the Plumas NF. Better because I was able to use a polarizing filter on the lens to reduce haze, and the camera lens is actually a little more powerful.
This shot is one of the last tanker drops on the fire about an hour after Pike Co. lookout first reported it. Last I heard, the fire was about 2/10ths of an acre. (Not my math).

The fire was about 11 miles to my SW, and I actually had the easiest view of this one, I think. Good job by Pike Co.....to beat me to this smoke. I've officially decided to do NO MORE paint scraping in light of today's events! 8^) I've been looking for an excuse to stop anyway.
