Ursus Chisos

A wonderful adrenaline flowing encounter with a black bear while sitting on a 10' rock pinnacle after finishing my sandwich. Nose in the air, it sniffed me out....gruffed....ears back, and then moved slowly onward. I think we were both relieved. Big Bend N.P. day after Thanksgiving.

There's a beauty about this that I can't describe....simple power that could make me lunch...and a very good 'left-over' dinner. A decision, a moment in time. I would've fought....continuously.

To those who get it, the focal length was 56 mm, but it is cropped....somewhat.

A genuine adventure, and a shot to die for. Almost. And I see no evidence of a shaking camera either. Bravo..!
