Norah’s most highly anticipated stop on our trip was Meow Wolf in Santa Fe. Ever since seeing pictures from a friend she was dying to go. I was sure to buy tickets once we decided we were going to New Mexico (recommended, especially for busy times). Tickets are timed entry, but once in Meow Wolf, you can spend as much time as you like.
And what exactly is Meow Wolf? Good question. It’s much easier to experience it than try to explain it. But to give some idea, this is from the Meow Wolf Website: “Meow Wolf is an arts and entertainment group based in Santa Fe, established as an art collective in 2008. Meow Wolf champions otherness, weirdness, challenging norms, radical inclusion, and the power of creativity to change the world. Meow Wolf creates immersive and interactive experiences that transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of story and exploration. Our first permanent installation, House of Eternal Return, launched in 2016. Inside, guests discover a multidimensional mystery house with secret passages, portals to magic worlds, and an expansive narrative amidst surreal, maximalist, and mesmerizing art exhibits.”
Expectations were sky high and I’m happy to report they were met, and then some. Meow Wolf was awesome! Delightful, unique, creative, fun, and any other adjective you can think of. We spent hours there; so much to explore and experience. It is unlike anything we have ever done and we are already eagerly awaiting future openings in Las Vegas and Phoenix.
