There are mice galore at the campsites near the confluence. The main campsite has trees which are useful for hanging food, but our campsite on a nearby sandy ledge didn't have any trees. Steve managed to rig something up for the food during the night, but the mice were still dilligent. The next morning while we were packing we unwittingly left our food on the ground in plastic grocery bags while we went for a short hike down the canyon. When we came back there was a small mouse sitting in the bag gnawing away on a twizzler.
