The clouds continued to gather at sunset and it wasn't long before we heard the rumble of thunder and saw lightning flashing all around us. I attempted some lightning pictures before the rain became too heavy. We sat for a long time at Oxbow Bend watching the show and stopped several times to watch on our drive back to Jenny Lake. The frequency and intensity of the lightning was impressive. The next day a ranger told us that the old timers said it was one of the more violent storms they have seen. I believe it - it was intense.
