We continued north to Mammoth Springs and saw more elk lounging on the grass lawns. Just past Mammoth Springs near the Montana/Wyoming border we parked at the trailhead for the Boiling River trail. The trail is about half a mile along the Gardner River and near the end of the trail you can see a stream flowing from underground. This stream is heated and where it flows into the Gardner river, the waters mix for a natural jacuzzi.
