Cascade Canyon-Paintbrush Canyon hike

Sunrise and breakfast taken care of, we were off to our respective hikes. Norah and I planned to join the ranger led hike to Inspiration Point and Steve was off for another of his runs:

After the easy last day in the Wind River Range, I was definitely itching for a long hard trail run when we arrived in the Tetons. I talked to Kathy and decided I would do the classic Paintbrush Divide Loop. Typically one starts and ends this hike at String Lake, but foolishly I started and ended at Jenny Lake, not realizing that it is actually 25 miles if you take this route.

The first portion of the run in up the beautiful Cascade Canyon, a long moderate climb of six miles.
