We had visited the Grand Prismatic last year at the Midway Geyser Basin and this year we wanted to get a bird's eye view of the colorful pool. We scrambled up a burned hill to the southwest of the Grand Prismatic. There is no official trail, but it's clear where the herd path is when you are walking on the trail to Fairy Falls. It was an amazing view of the gorgeous pool.
