The next landmark on the South Kaibab Trail is Cedar Ridge - 1.5 miles and 1200 feet elevation loss from the trailhead. The trail levels off here and there is a pit toilet, which makes it a popular destination for day hikers and a nice spot for hikers and mule trains to take a break.
