It was maybe a mile from our campsite to the end of the trail. We took a long break here and talked to a nice fellow from Tennessee who was attempting Gannett Peak that night. They were going to attempt that day, but when they woke up around midnight or so there was quite the electrical storm over the peaks and they decided to wait a day.
