Allan is the Artistic Director of the Whatcom Chorale. We had our end of the year party tonight and I took this candid portait of Allan. I tried my first composite portrait. I used Capture 1 to create three different versions of this portrait - a very dark one to tone down the highlights on his arm and head, a mid range one for the middle colors and a light one to brighten up his face. I put them on three layers and lowered the opacity of the top three. The highlights were still too bright so I used to erasor tool at low opacity and low flow to remove some of the brighter top and middle layer. It was difficult getting the registration right. I then flattened the result, sharpened it and here it is. Allan is an intense and emotional guy and I think this shows that. BTW, if anybody knows an easier or better way to do this, please let me know. Thanks, Ann
