This is my first sighting of a female wood duck. She had chicks and I will post pictures of them soon. Wood ducks are native to this area. The male is much more colorful. I saw my first wood duck in Stanley Park, Vancouver B.C. He looks like this: http://www.pbase.com/image/23803767
