Riga Port with its ~40 million ton annual turnover is now the largest in Baltic states. The main cargos are coal, oil products, fertilisers, also some steel, timber, grain. Containers play an increasing role too. Port facilities are located along Daugava river starting from the center of Riga down to the Bay of Riga. Cargo mostly come from Russia, also Belarus and obviously Latvia itself too. Passenger boats departing from tbe banks in front of the Old Town allow to see the port in action.
