Scuba and snorkel diving in the Kohala and Kona coast of Hawaii in June 2002

My first pictures using my Olympus C-3040 together with the Ewa-Marine D-CA2 enclosure. See a separated gallery at the end of this one for details on the enclosure. Most pictures were taken with the internal flash, though a thorrough color correction was needed in almost all cases, using Photoshop Elements. The photos are from three different scuba dives and two snorkel ones.

Nice pics, looks like you had a super time. Would like to point out, the rose-like pink thing in the pic titled "Cave Wall Sponge" is an egg cluster from a Spanish Dancer nudibranch. aloha, Beachdee

Nice pics! The picture labelled "don't know the name" looks like the skeleton of a pebble collector urchin - the short spiky urchins that usually have sand littering their tops.

Peter, excellent pics. The visibility was outstanding. Did some more diving on Cook Islands and a couple of dives at the Barrier Reef. Thanks for making the pics available. Best regards, Uwe

Thank you Paula for your nice comments. I have finished putting the names of the fish according to the guides I have and the corrections you made. May be you can check them and tell me if you notice any other mistakes. I included a couple of new pictures too.

Aloha Peter, I just now had an opportunity to view your photos - brilliant! I am indeed impressed with the plastic bag system. You were lucky to spot the white tip reef shark; there have been so few sightings this year. You may want to change the title on two of your photos: the 'orange stripe' eel is actually a 'yellow margin' moray, and the 'hawaiian lion fish' is a juvenile 'rockmover wrasse' sometimes referred to as a dragon wrasse. Hope you get some diving in between ski trips!
