Built in 1750 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, this hall originally had 2 floors. Burned down by Anglo-French Allied Forces during Emperor Qianfeng reign (1860), it was reconstructed in 1886 to serve as the living quarters of the Empress Dowage Cixi during her stay at the Summer Palance.
