Trumpeter Swan

From my gallery “A Visit to the Toronto Zoo”

I have never seen a trumpeter swan before. When I entered the Zoo on May 18,
I walked on a path where there was a waterfall on the left hand side.
To my great delight were two trumpeter swans enjoying the
area near the waterfall. A memorable moment for me.

These are beautiful and graceful swans, once almost lost to us, but with conservation and dedication of a few people they are now more abundant. Every year thousands of these swans come to Vancouver Island to winter, leaving for their nesting grounds in April. Wonderful image Jay you have caught the very essence of their beauty.
