These photos were made whilst travelling 2,500km from Alice Springs to Broome, Western Australia in July-August 2005 on an outback birdwatching trip. The photos were taken with film using manual cameras without batteries.

Generally I used a 21mm wide angle lens on a rangefinder camera, and a 125mm Macro + SLR - both lenses made by Voigtlander. Most of the roads were dirt tracks and very rough. My equipment took a real battering. But it handled it very well. The main problem was the immense amount of dust!

Come back again as I add some more images from the nearly 1,000 photograps I made on my trek. I will be showcasing these and other photos at Primrose Park, Cammeray, Sydney, on Saturday 8th October. There will be a BYO BBQ from 7pm, with photos and music following. Please email Tony if you are coming: bluebird1@dodo.com.au
