After I posted the Christmas Moon last night, I began to wonder why the moon image was so orange when the object in the sky wasn't. I went back on Christmas day and re-processed the moon image from another RAW shot I did in the same sequence. I think when I did the post-processing of one of the .jpeg images on Christmas eve, I used levels and changed the color to orange without paying attention to the color shift. I am just learning to use RAW and, in my haste to put the image up, I chose a .jpeg image to process since I am more familiar with .jpeg processing. I hope this won't happen again (although to be honest, it probably will). :(

The Christmas Eve Moon was taken with the D200, 70-300mm VR on a tripod, mirror locked, manual shutter release. EXIF: Shutter Priority - 1/800s, f/5.6, ISO 100, FL 300mm (450mm 35mm equivalent).

other sizes: small medium original auto

This is one best moon shots that i have seen for a while. Mots moon pictures are over exposed and have no detail on the moon it's self. Good work and no apology necessary

I like the other one just as much as this one. Not to worry about the color balance thing - it happens!
