Had A beautiful trip to the North and South Pender Islands. I believe it use to be one Island then a channel was dug between them so the boat could go through. They are separated by a one car width bridge. The Islands together are about 15kms long and about 4 km wide. The roads go up and down, around the bend and everyone goes full speed ahead to get a couple of kms down the road. There are a few good place to eat, reasonable to unreasonable. Port Browning Marina Resort is a good place to eat. Hope Bay Cafe is a little pricey but a nice setting and good service..."Excellent Fish an Chips". Fish on Pender and the bakery beside are also good. Gas goes at $1.25 L. Poets cove is beautiful and has a high end place to eat. Otter Bay is also pretty as well as Port Browning and Hope Bay Marina. Thieves Bay, Gowlland and Otter Bay for sunsets. The Local people are very friendly and the have that Pender wave to everyone. Not sure if I could hack their life style.. It seem like there normal day is to get up, go for a walk, work on there yard and flower beds, take a nape visit their neighbors, go for another walk, supper and in bed early. On weekend is the farmers market and then maybe a dance or go to the Browning Pub... Then all repeated. Most people are retired... there are more deer then children on the island. They are real pests. Bottom line it is a laid back Island with very friend people.. A nice place to visit....Also managed a day a Butchart Gardens in Victoria.. "Lot's Of Rain"
