the Eight Auspicious Symbols - Astamangala or luck-bringing signs, the Wheel of the Law (chakra) . The golden 8 spoked wheel is a symbol of both temporal and spiritual sovereignty. Ther eight spokes represent the eight directions and the Noble Eightfold Path which the Buddha set in motion. Here it is depicted springing forth from the leaves of a peony plant, an auspicious plant, and like all plants, with both medicinal and spiritual properties. 6 lines of Tibetan script to the reverse, with 1 red illumination and 1 syllable to the bottom edge. 11.6 x 13.6
