An antique 19th Century or earlier (much earlier) tsakli painting in mineral pigments depicting, within a burst of roiling flames, a 3 headed, green-bodied, 6 armed, six legged winged Heruka deity with a fierce expression, his principal hands holding a dorje and a bell, his secondary hands holding various attributes including an sword and a serpent, an axe and a bhumpa which are in tarjani mudra, the gesture of warning. He wears a skull diadem which holds back his streaming yellow hair, a flayed elephant and a flayed human skin with a tiger-skin dhoti and tiger skin 'feathers' to his wings, a garland of severed heads and a serpent necklace. A line of Tibetan text, a much later paper tab affixed to the reverse. 9.3 x 11.6cm
