An antique Tibetan tsakli painting, 19th Century or earlier depicting, within a great red mandorla, a Dharmacakra, or
'Wheel of the Law' - the wheel of rapid spiritual transformation which represents overcoming of all obstacles and illusions.
The Wheel is a symbol of the Buddhist teachings and an emblem of the Chakravartin or 'Wheel Turner'. The hub of the
wheel symbolises moral discipline, the spokes symbolising analytical insight and the rim representing meditative
concentration. This tsakli shows the Wheel supported by a lotus throne, with furled lotus buds at the terminals of the
spokes. 2 syllables in
Tibetan text to reverse. 8.8 x 12.8cm

other sizes: small medium large original auto
