An antique, 19th Century tsakli painting in mineral pigments depicting within an arched saffron nimbus is the tantric protector deity Heyagriva, (Tamdin) the red bodied Horse Necked God, wearing a green edged black coat over his tiger skin dhoti and bone ornaments, his identifying attribute- the horse head, peeps from his streaming hair held back by a diadem. His face is fierce, his hands in tarjani mudra, the gesture of warning. His wrathful attitude is directed against the enemies of the dharma. 1 line of text to the reverse. 8.8 x 12cm
