An antique, 19th Century tsakli painting depicting a 'mandala' of 5 manifestations of Machig Labdron who was
the originator of several Tibetan lineages of the Vajrayana practice of Chod - or 'cutting through, or severing'
in which the practitioner offers the mandala of their own body in a ganachakra ritual, which is a tantric
assembly feast as part of spiritual practice working to overcome all fears. The manifestations of the five colours
each on her own lotus throne and treading on a prostrate corpse carries the Chod damaru and a bell. 9.5x8cm
