An antique Tibetan tsakli painting, 19th Century or earlier, depicting a trefoil form 'triple-eyed gem' , which resembles the Chinese cloud scroll or ruyi, but in Tibet representing the '3 jewels' of Buddhism -The Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, within a great burst of Wisdom Flame and within an aureole of smoke and a red torana, on its own lotus base. An offering of 3 norbu (wish-fulfilling gems) and a 'wheel of joy' lie below. 7 liners of Tibetan text including 1 red illumination. 12.3 x 9.3cm
