An antique 19th Century tsakli painting in mineral pigments depicting a white bodied dakini, naked save her elaborate, flowery headdress, standing provocatively on her throne. Dakinisare the bestowers of wisdom or gnosis, and may appear in many guises - sometimes as hags; other times as nubile young maidens. The practitioner must accept her, in whatever form she presents, or risk receiving the teachings shew brings. This dakini is of the pleasant sort - long flowing hair and an unlined face and body - she gazes, smiling directly at the viewer. 9.5 x 10.8cm
