08112006 the puzzling episide of Ginger Tom

A strange thing happened today. I'm not sure but I think Ginger Tom and I might have become friends.
Dad took me "round the block" for a quick walky at lunchtime. We were strolling along, minding our own business, when I spotted Ginger Tom lying in a neighbour's flower bed. He looked very content, with his front paws tucked under his chest and a cat-grin on his face. I trotted up to him and he didn't move even though he watched me coming. I trotted right up to him. He twitched an ear, that was it. We sniffed each other. No staring, no hissing, no chase. Weird.
Didn't really know what to do with a cat that didn't run away! Dad and I walked on but I kept looking back...

(dad: Pooch's perplexity was funny to watch. Sadly I didn't have a camera with me to record the incident, so here's an archive shot from last weekend instead)

Nice to get down to your level Pooch, you see things differently from down

Great shot of the happy Pooch on the trail.
Maybe Ginger Tom will hop down from the fence to visit you.

Oh I dont know Pooch. Maybe it was an exception.
My experience is that we dogs just dont mingle with cats, Pooch...

You finally found a soul mate in a cat, Pooch. Too bad there was no camera to record your rendezvous.

I suspect it's part of a vast cat conspiracy to disguise their true intentions - watch out, Pooch!

I could have told you that cats weren't all that bad, but I figured you needed to find out for yourself, Pooch. :-)

Nice story... Cats and dogs are not always in bad terms...
So, glad you got a new friend, Pooch!
