River Hull tidal barrier

Many parts of the city are low-lying, some on land reclaimed from the sea. This tidal barrier on the river Hull protects about
17000 homes from the risk of flooding due to tidal surges. It was refurbished two years ago and as you can see if you compare it to
the Yorkshire Post shot (see link below), the barrier is now suspended horizontally and has to be swung vertically before being
