Wing scales of a male Morpho didius butterfly

Image © 2007 Norman Day. Please do not reproduce without permission!

(High quality original available - please enquire)

The length of the field of view for this (un-post-processed jpeg) picture is approximately 1.3mm!
The OM 20mm f2 macro lens had to be focussed manually and stopped down to f11.(Even at this
aperture depth of field is miniscule - and therefore I have cropped the original to the area of
best focus). The camera was mounted on a Jessops 920 copystand. Illumination was provided by
ttl flash (camera set to aperture priority mode) using the FL36 unit and FL-CB05 remote lead.

Notice the incorrect EXIF data - both for aperture and flash. The camera cannot provide accurate aperture
information for OM lenses, and appears to only monitor usage of its built-in flash unit.

OLYMPUS Evolt E-510, 20mm f2 macro lens plus 65-115 extension tube, FL36 flash
