Overcup Oak Swamp

Named for the species of oak that grows here, Quercus lyrata. Overcup oak or swamp white
oak is found in wet areas for it is very tolerant of flooding and survives well when the
roots are underwater for long periods of time. This oak is very slow-growing as it may take
up to 30 years to produce fruit.
