12 Inch Snow - NOT

Does this look like 12 inches of snow?

Starting on Dec 30th, all 5 TV weather forecasters were predicting this 12 inch snowfall starting on New Year's Day and continuing through Wednesday morning. There were storm warnings (not watches) in effect all day Tuesday for this massive lake effect snow they were expecting. Late Tuesday the local news people were telling people to check back with them in case of school closings. This is what we got - barely a half inch of snow! I had a bunch of ideas for shots to try in the deep snow and this is all I could come up with.

For the record I did lay down to take this image and I must say that in 16 degrees F (that's -8 degrees C for my friends in Canada) even a half inch of snow is cold.

Very funny! You're a good sport to get out there and photograph disappointment.

Staci hates weathermen. No matter what they say, she thinks they are full of it. I am the opposite. I always believe them. I am disappointed quite a bit.

Yup, we had a similar forecast last Friday. Supposedly huge snow storm. Barely got 3 inches. They also gave us the 50+ temp for this Sunday. They should have never given those fools a weather computer... ;)

The same weather forecasters are "saying" near 60 degrees F next week so I better keep my boots and coat handy :-)

I’d like a job like the weatherman’s; wrong 90% of the time and still get paid – and you got the photographic proof too! (Or is that really long grass in the deep snow? Nicely done.)
