Despite the triple digit heat, the idea was to get to the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri but I ran into several locked gates and couldn't make it to the riverbank. Most of the roads heading back there were gravel so it was a challenge. Kept it up, though.
I then rode the Great River Road North until I got to the Brussels Ferry (FREE!) which took me back to Missouri and then took the Golden Eagle Ferry ($4 for motorcycles) towards St. Peters. Molly called and said she was headed out to Montelle (not Williams) Winery so I joined them. The heat was unbearable at times but I always remember: ATGATT!
