La ponte.
L'Ichneumon (Rhysse cannelle / Megarhyssa macrurus) est le prédateur naturel du Tremex.
La femelle insère son ovipositeur dans le bois pour pondre ses œufs dans les larves de
siricidae comme le trémex un insecte térébrant (qui perce le bois).

Le bruit que les larves du Tremex émettent en grugeant le bois indique leur emplacement à
l'Ichneumon; elle capte ce bruit par l'extrémité de ses pattes. Elle enfonce alors son
ovipositeur à travers l’écorce jusque dans la larve.

Pour ce qui est du montage photo de mon Ichneumon, elle fut réalisée en deux temps.
Suite à la coupe obligatoire d'un très gros érable malade qui devenait dangereux,
j'ai découvert plusieurs larves de plusieurs espèces d'insectes que je ne connaissais pas à l'époque.
Puis, comme le tronc coupé en tranche donnait accès à toutes ces bibites, plusieurs prédateurs sont
venus festoyer tels que le pic-bois, la mésange, la sittelle, la guêpe et bien sûr l'Ichneumon.
Bref, ayant photographié la larve quelques jours auparavant et ayant découvert de quelle espèce il
s'agissait, il ne me restait plus qu'à faire le montage PhotoShop Proie/Prédateur.

Laying.
The Ichneumon (Cinnamon Rhyss / Megarhyssa macrurus) is the natural predator of the Tremex.
The female inserts her ovipositor into the wood to lay her eggs in the tremex larva.

The noise that the larvae of the Tremex emits while chewing the wood, indicates their location
to the Ichneumon which it picks up by the end of its legs. She then pushes her ovipositor
through the bark into the larva.

As for the picture of my Ichneumon and is prey, it was done in two stages.
Following the necessary cutting of a very large diseased maple tree which was becoming dangerous,
I discovered several larvae of several species of insects that I did not know at the time.
Then, as the trunk cut into slices gave access to all these bugs, several predators came to feast
on it, such as the woodpecker, the titmouse, the nuthatch, the wasp and of course the Ichneumon.
In short, having photographed the larva a few days before and having discovered what species it was,
all I had to do was do the PhotoShop edit of Prey/Predator.
