The St. Martin's Church is a single-nave hall church. The oldest part is the choir (14th century). The nave, transept, and the distinctive tower followed later, in the early 16th century. The architecture is largely Late Gothic.
Although the church was built as a Catholic church, this changed during the Reformation around 1570. From that moment on, it became a Dutch Reformed (Protestant) village church.
Since late 2022, the church has been privately owned and has been given the new, multifunctional name Boutique Basilique.
The new owners have transformed the building into a combination of a residence, art studio, design showroom, small-scale event venue, and an exclusive Bed & Breakfast.
