From this point on the L3056 in County Louth, you look out over Carlingford Lough. The lough forms the natural border between Ireland (County Louth) and Northern Ireland (County Down). Nearby villages on the Irish coast are Omeath and medieval Carlingford. On the opposite side lies the port town of Warrenpoint. The Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland are also visible from there. The patchwork of green fields and stone walls in the foreground is typical of the Cooley Peninsula.
