For many years (before 2021), the property served as the active studio and home of local artist John "Boss" O’Sullivan. The home was subsequently transformed into a vacation rental named "The Red House". Colloquially and in tourist guides, it is often referred to as the house of "Boss the Painter" due to the bright color he gave it himself.
