I met Anne in 2006 after she had asked permission to do a painting of a photo I had taken. Every so often I receive an email from Anne asking...can I use that photo to paint ?
Anne Layman
Drawing and painting have always been an obsession. After retiring from teaching art I was able to devote more energy and time to my painting in watercolour and still do so, especially when it means rendering nature. Many of my pieces are connected to a long passion with birds. Someone once commented , ” No, they are not just sparrows...Look at the colours, the textures and the light”. Birding has opened my world and has taken me to captivating places such as Africa and Costa Rica. But it has also allowed me to render the astounding beauties of Manitoba.
