The rain picked up as we went west but pretty cascades etc., pictures of this part seems to be on video.

The next day the pass was forecast to be misserable has it had been that day, with maybe some snow and a chance they would close the trail. Instead I woke to clear skies (saw stars the nite before) but an icey trail. Got a late start 6:30 am since I could not find my rain pants in the dark. I hiked from the falls hut to the divide, after going to the greenstone/caples junction by mistake and caught my 4 o'clock bus to Queenstown.
